My name is Nikki I am a volunteer like you and I am putting together a video to help recruit more volunteers. My shift is Sundays 6am-11am and I’ll be taking videos of the animals and volunteers (who want to be in the video). I’m hoping to have the video completed by end of April/beginning of May to help bring us more volunteers.
I am reaching out to you to see if anyone is interested in being in the video! We welcome you to take videos after your shift is completed and all the animals are taken care of or while you are feeding babies if someone on your team can help take the video for you.
What we are looking for is:
- volunteers always in full required PPE (mask, gloves, gowns, t-shirts, bite gloves when necessary) feeding babies and animals. Prepping the food.
- Volunteers if you want to take a video in front of the outside enclosure of some of the animals and tell us a little something about why you are volunteering, fun fact you learned about the animal, your experience with Procyon, how many years have you been with Procyon, what you do as a volunteer, what you love about being a volunteer. This can be done without a mask as long as you are outside the enclosures not inside with the animals (the animals can be in the background of course)
- Even if you want to take videos of the babies and send them to Debra that is also super cool!
- If you are releasing any animals a video of that would be super awesome as well! But again making sure gloves are worn when appropriate.
- Usually staff around you are always super busy but with their permission and have the time please take videos of them in action if you can and they approve it!
- Staff I’ll be coming by and hopefully getting some cool interviews from everyone who wants to involved !!
We want everyone to have fun while doing this but staying safe. And again please make sure to do this at the end of your shift or while you are in action with a fellow volunteer who is already helping in the same area. We want to make sure animals are the priority over the filming.
I will set aside a date soon (to be determined) where I will film volunteers in action and interview them. We will send out a separate email with all that information when I figure out a date. We want this to be as awesome and fun as we can make it !!!
I know staff are usually so busy but we want to see you in the video too !! helping/ training volunteers is part of the process and it’s appreciated that staff is always around to help us and show us things to help the animals.
Take as many videos as you can and send them to Debra before May 4th.
Deadline May 4th 2026
Email to send videos to: debras@procyonwildlife.com
Please let me know what you think.
Thank you,
