Posting Pictures
- Be careful that all photos that you post online follow protocol. lf the picture of an animal is held while being photographed, make sure that you have gloves on. A photo, with someone holding a raccoon without gloves, could lead to this baby being euthanized, if the photo is seen by the MNR.
- When posting a photo be careful of your comments. An example of this is the blind raccoon. It is unknown whether this is an injury or permanent condition. If we post him as a blind raccoon, the MNR would direct us to euthanize him without allowing us to see if he recovers his sight.
- An innocent photo of a coyote could lead to his death if a bounty hunter was looking to collect money and arrived at the centre when no one was around. I realize that seems to be unlikely, however we had someone come in during the night and steal a skunk.
Social Media requests
- Please do not ask for any items (food or material) on your social media. Invariably we end up with far more than we need and it is then up to us to get rid of it. If you have a lead on something, please ask one of the staff if it is wanted or needed.
