For those working morning shifts or feeding duties, please ensure that all permanent residents with access to outdoor enclosures have their access doors opened each morning so they can utilize their outdoor spaces throughout the day.
For those working evening or night shifts, it is very important that all permanent residents are secured back inside their indoor enclosures and that all doors are properly closed and locked for the night. No animal should remain outside overnight. Predators such as mink and other wildlife may be able to gain access to outdoor enclosures after dark creating a risk of injury to the animals in our care.
As a reminder, our permanent residents with both indoor and outdoor enclosure access include:
- Apple (American Porcupine)
- Bagherra (Domestic Mink)
- Edgar & Lenore (Ravens)
Please take a moment during your shift to verify that all enclosure doors, gates, and locks are secure and functioning properly.
These procedures are essential for the safety, security, and well-being of our permanent residents. Thank you for your attention to this important routine and for everything you do to support the wildlife at Procyon.
